I created the branding and website for Half Moon Tavern, a local home bar. The client likes to entertain guests often, and a challenge he was facing was keeping track of all of the various drink recipes he likes to make. The name is sentimental to the client, and I branded around that.
I created a business card with a QR code on the back leading to the Half Moon Tavern website. These were printed and are handed out when guests arrive to make getting to the site as simple as pointing their smartphone camera at the QR code. The URL is also printed on the back for those who prefer to type it in.
I designed a single page website and then developed it into a custom WordPress backend. The client can now add recipes with ease, and guests can have a helpful reference to encourage trying out new drinks.
When a user clicks the recipe button, a jQuery modal pops up with the recipe. Recipes are easy to add from the backend, via a custom WordPress post type with fields for ingredients as well as instructions. The modal is populated dynamically via AJAX.
The website was developed mobile-first, to ensure a great experience on all devices, no matter the size.
